This role is pivotal in transforming healthcare delivery by ensuring optimal physician and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) schedules. You will lead a dedicated team, driving strategic scheduling solutions that enhance clinical quality and operational efficiency. Accountabilities
- Lead a team to generate and post Physician and APP schedules monthly across various care sites.
- Identify and execute opportunities to enhance scheduling for improved clinical quality and cost efficiency.
- Maintain real-time updates to schedules and mediate any changes as required.
- Assist in forming facility-specific physician panels based on licensing and privileges.
- Compile reports on coverage progress and capacity needs by site.
- Handle escalated physician outreach for capacity and coverage solutions.
- Provide feedback on scheduling tools to improve functionality.
- Collaborate with other service lines to share best practices.
- Coach and mentor direct reports for career development.
- Supervise staff performance and manage payroll-related activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in physician scheduling or workforce management.
- Prior management experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Understanding of provider scheduling processes.
- Discretion and decisiveness in decision-making.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
