Job Description - School Accounts & Government Sales Representative K-12


We are seeking a results-driven K-12 School Sales Representative to expand our presence in the education sector. In this role, you will focus on selling commercial kitchen equipment and solutions to K-12 schools, school districts, and education-related organizations. Your mission will be to help schools build, upgrade, and modernize their kitchen operations so they can better serve students—while meeting budget, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to drive growth in the K-12 education market.
  • School & District Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with school nutrition directors, foodservice managers, purchasing officers, and district decision-makers.
  • Bid & RFP Management: Proactively identify and respond to bids, RFPs (Requests for Proposals), and RFQs (Requests for Quotes) from schools and school districts.
  • Product Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of our product lines—including cooking equipment, refrigeration, dishwashing units, prep tables, and more—and position them effectively for school environments.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to prepare accurate, tailored quotes, bids, and presentations that meet school district requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, logistics, and project management teams to ensure projects are delivered seamlessly.
  • Client Support: Provide excellent post-sale support to schools, ensuring satisfaction, long-term relationships, and repeat business.
  • Market Awareness: Stay up to date on school purchasing processes, funding programs, and industry trends within K-12 foodservice.

Qualifications

  • Industry Experience
    • Proven track record of selling into K-12 schools, districts, or education-related organizations.
    • Experience in commercial kitchen equipment, foodservice, or capital goods is highly preferred.
    • Familiarity with school procurement and funding processes (including federal programs) is a strong plus.
  • Sales Skills
    • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and understand bid requirements.
  • Travel
    • Willingness to travel for onsite visits, presentations, and school district meetings as needed.
  • Must be located in the state of Washington.
