Minimum Qualifications:
21 years of age or older Possession of or ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger, air brake, and school bus endorsements Possession of and maintenance of an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Meet or exceed medical requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation and the State of Indiana as stated by IC 20-9-1-3-1 Section 1A Ability to pass all drug and alcohol tests as required by the U.S. Department of Transportation Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical calculations with sufficient mental ability to handle receipts, road maps, road signs, and to calculate mileage Ability to follow instructions well Ability to work as a team with other staff Displays dependability and punctuality Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
Responsibilities:
Safely drive a school bus on days when school is in session over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, loading, and unloading students at designated locations When needed, transport teachers, students, and others on school field or activity trips Inspect assigned bus on a daily basis prior to transporting passengers to ensure bus is in good, clean, and safe working order Maintain order and discipline in an effective and courteous manner in accordance with district policies, procedures, and report any incidents involving student discipline Follow procedures to ensure that no child is left alone on the school bus without adult supervision at any time, and that all students have departed bus at the end of all trips Prepare aides and students for bus drills and ensures bus evacuation drills are held as required Properly evacuate children according to written and practiced procedures when an accident or emergency occurs Attends all mandatory trainings Maintains and enforces all safety protocols and procedures at all times Represents the WLCSC and WLCSC Transportation Department in a professional way at all times

Salary & Benefits:
Starting at $25 / hr. Eligible for benefits including health, dental, vision, and voluntary insurance offerings Paid time off
Schedule:
5.5 hours / day with opportunity for additional hours 178 days / yr. Follows school calendar Reports to:
