School Bus Monitor

The School Bus Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while they are being transported to and from school. The monitor will work closely with the bus driver to maintain a safe and orderly environment on the bus.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus safely
• Ensure that students are seated and wearing seat belts (if applicable)
• Monitor student behavior and enforce school bus rules
• Report any incidents or issues to the bus driver and/or school administration
• Assist students with special needs as required
• Perform regular safety checks on the bus
• Communicate with parents/guardians as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
