School Counselor Reports to: School Principal Hours: Part-Time Background on the Organization Ambition Preparatory Charter School is deeply committed to ensuring that every student in grades K-8 receives the high-quality education that they deserve. Responsibilities and Duties Guide the development and implement a competitive school counseling program that focuses on and promotes students’ success Value and respond to the diversity and individual differences of students Ensure equitable access to opportunities and rigorous curriculum for all students Provide direct support services through structured conventions Evaluate areas of strength and advocate for students Provide group or individual responsive services Collaborate with teaching staff to determine how best to meet individual students' needs Work with school faculty and staff to develop plans for maintaining the well-being of individual students and of the student population as a whole Perform assessments, interpret tests and study student records Gather and analyze data to measure results Complete regular reports on progress Requirements To be a part of the Ambition Prep team, it is required that all candidates possess an unwavering commitment to Ambition Prep’s mission, students, families, and community through the implementation of policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Masters degree in counseling required Successfully pass a background check passed, required Strong computer skills, including Google Suite and Adobe Experience in working with teams and individuals to meet specific and strategic outcomes Familiarity with online learning platforms 2+ years of experience working as a counselor with yout Compensation Ambition Preparatory Charter School offers competitive salaries and benefits commensurate with experience.
