School Food Service Director

We are seeking an organized, motivated, and experienced Food Service Director to oversee the daily operations of our school food service program.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced school food service professional looking for a rewarding leadership position with a Monday–Friday schedule, daytime hours, no weekends or holidays, and summers off!

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food service operations throughout the assigned school district.


• Travel between schools within the district as needed.


• Supervise, support, and manage food service staff.


• Review staffing needs, assist with scheduling, and participate in hiring.


• Place food and supply orders with vendors.


• Monitor inventory, food costs, and product usage.


• Ensure meals meet USDA National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines.


• Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, sanitation, and customer service.


• Prepare and submit end-of-month reports and required paperwork.


• Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.


• Communicate regularly with the Area Supervisor regarding program operations and needs.

Qualifications

• Previous school breakfast and lunch experience required.


• Previous food service management or supervisory experience preferred.


• Strong organizational and leadership skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to manage multiple locations and prioritize responsibilities.


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment.


• Must be able to travel within the assigned school district.


• Must be able to obtain all required clearances and documentation to work in schools.
