School Food Service Worker

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Food Service Worker to assist with the daily operations of our school food service program. Responsibilities include food preparation, meal service, classroom meal delivery preparation, cashier duties, cleaning, and general kitchen support. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing quality meals and excellent service to students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily kitchen food preparation, including preparing cold meals and helping the cook portion and tray hot meals.


• Package and prepare meals for delivery to Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms.


• Serve students during lunch periods in the cafeteria serving line.


• Operate the cash register/POS system as needed.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and cafeteria throughout and after meal service.


• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.


• Complete daily cleaning and sanitation duties as assigned.


• Receive deliveries and assist with putting away food, supplies, and inventory.


• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.


• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.


• Support the overall daily operations of the school food service program.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.


• Dependable, punctual, and reliable with excellent attendance.


• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.


• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.


• Positive attitude and friendly, student-focused approach.


• Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and food safety procedures.


• Previous food service or kitchen experience preferred.
