School Mental Health Therapist

Center for Human Development, Inc. is seeking a full-time School Mental Health Therapist to provide school-based mental health services to children and adolescents suffering from emotional or mental disorders, or facilitate these children receiving such services. This position is located in the La Grande School District.

The Requirements:

• 
  Master's degree in a social sciences field*; state licensure a plus or willingness to seek licensure preferred but not required; two years of relevant mental health experience;


• 
  Must meet the requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Professional.


• 
  Certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or must begin certification process upon hire.


• 
  Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.


• 
  Knowledge of practices, principles and philosophy of mental health treatment, motivational interviewing, assessment, treatment plans and DSM V diagnoses, computer basics and crisis counseling.

• Ability to establish rapport with a diverse age range


• Knowledge of developmental stages and adolescent issues.

• 
  Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass all criminal history check requirements and drug screenings.


• *If masters degree has not been obtained, to be considered for this position you must be attending school and have at least 30 credits based on quarter completed, or 20 credits based on semester completed
