Grow Academy, founded by the Grimm Family Education Foundation opened its doors in August 2011. Located in Arvin, California, Grow Academy is an independent public charter school where health and wellness is at the center of student success. Grow Academy implements a rigorous blended learning model where students actively engage in a unique, diversified learning environment in our Learning Lab, music program, physical education, and Edible Schoolyard and Learning Kitchen.
In 2016, Grow Public Schools was established as the Charter Management Organization (CMO) responsible for support and oversight of the academies. Today, Grow Public Schools is redefining academic excellence in Kern County as a multi-campus charter school operator. Grow Public Schools operates Grow Academy Arvin and Grow Academy Shafter, both K-8 schools with over 750 students enrolled at each campus. Job Overview and Summary
The job of the School Operations Manager is to lead the day-to-day operations of the school. This includes overseeing the school compliance, enrollment, safety plans, facilities and managing the operations team.
Essential Responsibilities
School Operations Leadership
- Lead non-instructional functions of a school, including front office school operations.
- Content expert for school operations responsible for successfully executing systems, processes and policies for health, safety, and nutrition
- Ensure state and federal compliance requirements are completed on time.
- With Principal, create and implement efficient systems for arrival and dismissal and all traffic flows
- Create and oversee safety evacuation procedures and lead regular drills
- Serve as a member of the school leadership team.
- Participate as a leadership member of the overall Operations team, demonstrating a willingness to problem-solve and assist with issues and concerns arising at each of the network's campuses.
Team Leader
- Supervise team of Office Clerk, Business Clerk, Attendance & Enrollment Clerk and Nurse. In partnership with them, ensure school is fully enrolled and that the front office is welcoming and responding to reception duties such as answering phones, doors and mail correspondence.
- Coordinate with the Executive Chef on meal preparation and service.
- Regularly inspect facilities and coordinate with the Facilities Manager to ensure school building is well maintained, safe and operational and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Set both performance and development goals for the school operations team.
School Operations Management
- Provide logistical support for school events and activities, including assisting with the planning, organization, and execution of various activities and gatherings. As well as tasks such as securing event venues, coordinating equipment and supplies, managing event schedules, and overseeing setup and cleanup.
- Order, manage, and maintain an inventory of school supplies with the Business Clerk
- Prepare purchase orders, and make purchases
- Manage school’s budget and review expenses
- Coordinate school mailings
- Oversee systems to file all important school documents. Collect and enter student attendance and make follow-up calls with families (SART)
- Contact parents and emergency assistance agencies in the case of serious illness or injury
- Lead and mediate parent meetings to resolve concerns
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 2 years working in an office environment
- Prior experience working in a school setting and with students is preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test
- Current or obtain CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 60 days of employment
- Proficient in Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Excel, and informational databases
- Managerial experience required
