School Sanitation Coordinator

Summary

The School Keeper will maintain cleanliness and sanitation at three of our school locations (2 Rowlett TX Schools & Richardson TX). This individual will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience in janitorial services, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hard Surface Floors

Dust mop/sweep all hard surface floors. Steam mop all hard surface floors regularly.

• Carpet & Rugs

Vacuum all area rugs and walk-on mats. Shampoo all rugs on a quarterly basis and as needed.

• Surface & Furniture Cleaning

Clean and disinfect sinks and countertops in classrooms and break rooms. Clean and disinfect all tables and chairs in classrooms and break rooms. Wipe and sanitize the refrigerator.

• Restrooms

Clean and disinfect all toilets and toilet bases. Sanitize sinks, counters, and restroom surfaces. Wipe and sanitize light switches, wall handles, and doorknobs. Restock toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other restroom supplies.

• Kitchen

Clean and disinfect the floor. Sanitize sinks, counters, and kitchen surfaces. Wipe and sanitize light switches, wall handles, and doorknobs. Restock paper towels, soap, and other supplies.

• Glass & Windows

Clean all mirrors in restrooms. Clean all hallway windows, entrance, and exit door glass (both interior and exterior). Clean classroom back windows (interior and exterior).

• Trash Removal

Empty all waste receptacles and replace liners. Dispose of trash in designated areas.

Other Duties

Other responsibilities include maintaining janitorial equipment and supplies, reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the School Director and Facilities Team, and following all safety guidelines and cleaning protocols.

Requirements

Travel and Work Environment

This job operates in a mobile environment, requiring at least 50% travel between school locations. There may be times when the janitor is on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, or other urgent maintenance and sanitation issues at the school sites.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here represent those required of a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of the School Janitor position. This role involves frequent movement throughout the school, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying supplies or equipment. Daily tasks may require climbing ladders, kneeling, or stretching to clean and maintain various areas of the school. The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and other environmental factors related to maintaining a safe and clean school environment.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule between three school locations. Work hours are 11 AM-8 PM but may vary based on the needs of the schools and may include early mornings or evenings as needed. Reliable transportation is required to travel between school sites as scheduled.

Required Education and Experience

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience required.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Must be able to report to work at each school location as scheduled.
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and reaching.
• Must pass a background check.
