School-Based Board Certified Behavior Analyst Job Summary
The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) role is an integral part of the Discover Student Support team, ensuring the principles of applied behavioral analysis (ABA) methodology is implemented with fidelity to significantly improve students’ social and behavioral functioning. BCBA salaries are exempt and start at $82,620 and increase with years of experience. Please see the salary scale here. BCBAs can earn up to $4,000 in renewal add-ons to their base salary each year they return to KIPP DC. This is a Full-time, fully on-site role based at Discover Academy with an immediate start date.

About the teamThe Board Certified Behavioral Analyst will be supporting the team & family of Discover Academy. At Discover Academy, the teachers and families work collaboratively to nurture and guide our students’ creativity, knowledge and sense of self. They support the needs of the whole child by pairing strong instruction with social emotional learning. Their classrooms are productive and filled with outrageous love for little KIPPsters. KIPPsters at Discover Academy leave with the foundational academic skills and mindsets that are necessary for success in rigorous and joyful elementary schools. About the RoleThe BCBA is integral in helping to create environments that foster positive behaviors and learning.Location and Type of Work
This is an exempt position and will report to the Principal of Discover Academy.As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support which requires this position to be fully on-site. This role is currently required to be on-site or in school (at Discover Academy) during regular work hours.ResponsibilitiesBehavior Analysis- 30%
- Complete comprehensive functional behavioral assessments and behavior plans for general education and special education students.
- Review and update behavior intervention plans and assessments accordingly in a timely manner using data analysis. Schedule review meetings with parents and school staff.
Collaborative Teaming - 40%
- Demonstrates positive, collaborative problem-solving orientation with students, parents and guardians, educators, administrators, community members, and colleagues.
- Implement student behavior plans by modeling interventions, creating data tracking systems and developing tools to collect progress-monitoring data for school staff.
- Serves in a consultative role with school teams to offer prevention and intervention strategies for students who have behavioral challenges; and provides consultation on an on-going basis to teachers, parents, and other school personnel to resolve students’ learning and behavioral problems.
- Train school staff in creating and executing evidence-based behavior interventions for students, use of data collection tools, behavior analysis techniques, and how to monitor fidelity.
- Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings at schools to provide guidance on IEP goals.
School and Community Support- 30%
- Serve as a full-time and engaged member of the KIPP DC team

- Exhibits positive rapport with students.
- Establishes and maintains strong communication lines with all stakeholders: school administrators, teachers, parents, and other staff.
- Must be self-motivated, a team player, and exercise patience/professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Behavior Analysis, Applied Behavior Analysis, Education/Special Education, Psychology or a related field.
- Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
- Extensive skills in behavioral assessment and behavior support plan development.
- Extensive knowledge of data analysis.
- Experience and commitment to working with limited access to quality educational opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an urban public school system.
- At least two years of experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand frequently
- Ability to travel across KIPP DC schools
