Community of Hope is seeking a School-Based Emotional Wellness Therapist to collaborate with school staff and families in supporting children and adolescents as they navigate emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. As a School-Based Therapist, you'll provide effective, evidence-based short-term and traditional psychotherapy, conduct screenings, and deliver crisis intervention services, improving student engagement and emotional health.

What You'll Do

• Works with other treatment and school personnel in a coordinated, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to improve student engagement and emotional health. Provides services as necessary to enable each client to meet their goals and to reach his or her maximum level of success.  Provides individual, family (non-couples), and group therapy via in person and/or telehealth. 
• Completes a treatment plan for all short-term therapy clients by the 2nd scheduled session and for long-term therapy clients by the 4th scheduled session. 
• Monitors client progress through the course of treatment, reevaluating and adapting the treatment plan at required intervals. Treatment Plan should be updated at least every 3 months or more frequently as appropriate. 
• Provides crisis intervention per the clinician’s licensing, following the school’s protocol and COH guidelines, to include addressing suicidal/homicidal ideations.  
• Enhances school climate and broadly promotes emotional wellness, mental wellness, and school success for students, families and staff by conducting on-going needs assessments, building relationships and systematically seeking to reduce stigma.   
• Delivers a range of effective interventions to children and families to address emotional and behavioral concerns and the unique stressors through the delivery of training implementation of evidence-based practices. 
• Helps identify and address related problems affecting health of client, such as housing, vocational rehabilitation, and social integration, and coordinates service delivery with other health center staff and community providers. 
• Provides clinical supervision to Master level interns and Licensed Graduate Clinicians as appropriate. 
• Participates in clinic services to support productivity, which is a minimum of 50 billable hours per month (12.5 billable hours per week). Meeting the productivity goals can be achieved through a combination of school based and clinic services and can occur either in person or via tele-health. 
• Prior to the start of winter and spring break, works with supervisor to determine a tentative outline of availability for clinic services. Regularly checks in with supervisor to discuss updates to schedule.  Prior to summer break, works with supervisor to develop clinical programming for the summer which includes but is not limited to individual therapy, clinical groups, preventive educational programming and/or other clinically appropriate programming. Expected to plan up to two months in advance to allow for success and promoting programming to families & students. 
• Maintains and documents all client encounters, including face to face, telephone, and electronic communications, in the medical record in a timely fashion.  Secures client information and maintains client confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping client information confidential. 

Must-Haves

• L.I.C.S.W/LGSW, LPC/LGPC, or comparable license required. Any providers who are licensed in Maryland who provide a copy of their license and MD CDS to Talent Management are also eligible for MD licensure reimbursement.  
• BLS Certification.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. 
• Ability to travel between sites required.   
• This position may require evening or weekend hours depending on client or school needs. 
• Ability to travel between sites required. 
• Ability to work with technology and electronic health records required.
