Job description
School-Based Mental Health Therapist
Description
The current position would best suit a licensed Mental Health Therapist, a therapist with 1-2 years of experience, or a clinical trainee seeking supervision hours toward licensure. The therapist will primarily be tasked with completing diagnostic assessments, developing treatment plans, and conducting individual therapy and group therapy sessions with school-aged children or adolescents at a school located in the metro area.
Responsibilities
· Complete diagnostic assessments (DAs)
· Develop and implement treatment plans based on DA and clinical experience
· Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
· Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
· Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy
· Assess clients' mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, tests, and collaboration with staff
· Serve as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve crisis
· Conduct initial family assessments and refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary
Qualifications
· Master's degree in psychology or social work
· Licensed mental health or post-master clinical trainee
· Work collaboratively with other providers
· Document progress notes within the prescribed timeframe
· Formulate a treatment plan with the client and their family
· Attend weekly team supervision
· Participate in weekly group supervision
· Possess superb organizational skills
· Ability to guide, direct, or influence others
· Possess excellent written and oral communication skill
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and their families
Job Types: Contract, Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

VEEMAH is a culturally focused and trauma-informed private mental health service provider whose staff includes a licensed psychologist, a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC), and other licensed professionals in the fields of psychology, social work, and addiction. VEEMAH's services include a psychological assessment clinic, an immigration waiver assessment clinic, a Children's Intensive Behavioral Health Services (CIBHS) program, and a school-based therapy program. VEEMAH also provides training for psychology and social work students.
