 (Bridgeview Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) is an affiliate of Bethany for Children & Families) 

Bethany for Children & Families, in affiliation with Bridgeview Community Mental Health Center, is currently looking for several full-time, School-Based Therapists to join our Behavioral Health team starting with the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. School-based Mental Health Therapists work within their assigned primary or secondary schools in and around the Quad Cities area and enjoy the flexibility associated with a school-year calendar! Salary Range  $41,800.00 - $59,000.00 depending on level of licensure and experience.

School-Based Therapist Job Duties:

  • Provide clinical therapy for a specific client caseload referred from schools, medical providers, the Iowa Department of Human Services, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and other community referral sources.
  • Evaluate and assess the needs of clients referred for services.
  • Utilize clinical interventions supported by evidence-based practices.
  • Coordinate services through collaborative efforts that involve families, schools, case managers, hospitals, community resources, medical and non-medical providers, vocational, social, and support services.
  • Meet regularly with the assigned clinical supervisor for oversight, direction, and clinical review of current caseload.
  • Maintain clinical records and all required data and reports as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements and file all necessary reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

School-Based Therapist Requirements: 

1. Have the ability to fulfill all of the regulatory requirements for employees of a Community Mental Health Center in the State of Iowa or Illinois as required by state and federal law. This includes successful completion of the criminal background investigation, clearance from the Illinois CANTS when applicable, as well as the office of the inspector general exclusionary screening.

2. Have a valid driver’s license, meet qualifications to operate agency vehicles, and have acceptable auto insurance coverage.

3. Required Education and Licensure

Therapist I:

· Have a Master’s Degree in a mental health field including, but not limited to, psychology, counseling and guidance, psychiatric nursing, or social work.

· Hold a current, unrestricted initial license (tLMHC, LMSW, LPC, LSW) in the state of Iowa or Illinois depending upon which state the therapist is working in.

Therapists II:

· Have a Master’s Degree in a mental health field including, but not limited to, psychology, counseling and guidance, psychiatric nursing, or social work.

· Hold a current, unrestricted independent license (LISW, LMHC, LCPC, LCSW) in the State of Iowa or Illinois depending upon which state the therapist is working in.

4. Experience and Skills

· Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word and Excel and the ability to learn other software programs, as applicable.

· Be able to physically attend to children who are experiencing difficulties.
