Job Description - Scientist, Biocatalysis Process Development

Overview:\n\nThe Scientist, Process Sciences will be responsible for development, characterization and scale-up of biocatalytic processes. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and contract manufacturing organizations on process development, process transfer, and oversight of oligonucleotide drug candidate manufacturing.\n\nThis position is onsite and will be located at our Kendall Square offices in Cambridge, MA. \n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Contribute to process development, optimization, and scale-up of biocatalytic processes\n * Support the process and product characterization of small molecules and oligonucleotide APIs\n * Contribute to the management and optimization of in-house and contract manufacturing processes\n * Author and review technical protocols and development reports in support of manufacturing and process characterization activities\n * Author, edit, and review manufacturing documentation according to regulatory and procedural guidelines\n * Work closely with analytical development, manufacturing, QA, QC and CMO/CRO on the process transfer and process optimization\n * Contribute to strategic technical discussions and presenting progress at internal and external scientific meetings\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n * Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, or biochemical engineering or B.S./M.S. with 7+ years of relevant experience\n * Process research and development experience in applied biocatalysis\n * Demonstrated proficiency in the design and development of practical processes for manufacture of small molecules and oligonucleotides\n * Hands-on experience in process development and analytical methods for process and product characterization\n * Excellent organizational and communication skills\n * Demonstrated strong operational execution and problem-solving skills\n * Desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment\n\n\n\n#LI-KB1 #LI-Onsite\n\nU.S. Pay Range\n\n$117,000.00 - $158,200.00\n\nThe pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
