Job Description - Scientist Biology (Screening)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated scientist with deep expertise in cancer biology, immunology, or rare disease research—ideally with experience in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and/or PROTAC drug discovery. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team to develop and characterize innovative therapeutic platforms. This role emphasizes functional and mechanistic studies, including ternary complex assays, biophysical and biochemical characterization, and the development of cell-based assays for drug candidate evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute cell-based and biochemical assays to evaluate the function, mechanism of action, and efficacy of ADCs, PROTACs, and other targeted therapeutics.

  • Conduct ternary complex assays to characterize interactions among target proteins, E3 ligases, and PROTACs; assess formation, stability, and degradation efficiency.

  • Apply surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and other biophysical techniques to study protein-protein and protein-small molecule interactions, including kinetic and cooperative binding analysis.

  • Support PROTAC development through data-driven optimization of binding affinity, ternary complex formation, and degradation kinetics.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with pharmacology, DMPK, informatics, and predictive science teams to support lead selection and mechanism-of-action studies.

  • Perform a wide range of lab techniques including tissue culture, qPCR, western blotting, ELISA, HiBit, and co-culture activity assays (2D/3D).

  • Maintain rigorous documentation of experiments, analyze and interpret complex datasets, and present findings in internal meetings and reports.

  • Contribute to expanding lab capabilities, identifying and implementing new technologies and assay platforms.

  • Uphold high standards of laboratory safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry with a focus on oncology or immunology.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with biochemical assays (e.g., SPR, ELISA), cell-based assays, and protein interaction studies.

  • Proven expertise in ternary complex biology, PROTAC mechanism of action, and related protein degradation pathways.

  • Familiarity with SPR, BLI, or other biophysical platforms for binding studies.

  • Experience working with ADCs and/or PROTACs from discovery through early validation is highly desirable.

  • Ability to execute and troubleshoot experiments independently, and to analyze complex datasets in context.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills—capable of cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced biotech environment.

  • A proactive, innovative mindset with a strong interest in advancing novel therapeutic platforms.

Education-
BS with +15 year, MS with 10+ years or PhD with up to 5 years of relevant industry experience in drug discovery.

*U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. (green card) are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor at this time.

*Candidate must be able to pass a background investigation.

*Unable to work with 3rd party candidates or agencies.
