KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction, engineering, architecture, or related field  
  • CRM experience required.  
  • 2-3 years of strong technical aptitude related to APS or IPS product lines.  
  • Estimating or Product Specialist experience within APS or IPS required.  
  • Comprehensive understanding of architectural construction documents, specifications, and estimating practices.  
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing complex, high-dollar construction estimates.  
  • Ability to evaluate pricing accuracy, risk, and commercial viability.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Performs direct quote and ensures estimate accuracy, technical completeness, and cost effectiveness prior to quote release, while facilitating collaboration between Estimating, Product Specialists, and Independent Sales Representatives. Responsible for reviewing, validating, and strengthening estimates for large and complex projects. This role serves as a quality and risk-control checkpoint for all complex quotations. The role operates as a strategic funnel between estimating and sales to improve win probability, margin protection, and customer confidence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for interpretation of estimating documents on significant projects.  

  • Review and validate takeoff quantities, assumptions, and pricing for accuracy and completeness.  

  • Identify scope gaps, risk exposure, and opportunities for cost optimization.  

  • Validate technical requirements necessary for accurate pricing, including drawings, specifications, logistics, and installation considerations.  

  • Review and vet third-party pricing and costing inputs, including Techniform, QPC, and other vendors.  

  • Ensure qualifications, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications are clear, complete, and commercially appropriate.  

  • Coordinate with Product Specialists to conduct final strategic review prior to quote release.  

  • Discussions with Product Specialists when feedback is received from sales representatives or customers.  

  • Participate in customer or sales representative scope review calls as needed.  

  • Provide structured feedback to estimating teams to improve future accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.  

  • Support continuous improvement of estimating and scope review processes.  

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management system and ISO 14001 environmental management system requirements, including adherence to documented procedures, participation in audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
