Scrap Operations and Warehouse Leader - Beaver Falls, PA  

LOCATION: Koppel - Pennsylvania  - USA 

DEPARTMENT: INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS 

Purpose:
Controls the scrap yard activities of reception, processing and shipment to ensure the adequate provisioning to the Steel Shop, with responsibility for the management and administrative control of scrap operations, the assurance of client satisfaction with stockup and the observance of company standards and safe practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily yard and warehouse operations from receiving through shipping
- Ensure proper scrap segregation, storage, and material flow
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts
- Lead and coordinate team activities, ensuring productivity and discipline
- Enforce safety standards and conduct regular checks and briefings
- Oversee proper equipment usage and basic inspections
- Maintain yard organization, cleanliness, and safe layout
- Communicate effectively with management, and maintenance teams

Skills

- Ability to understand and execute daily plans and meet production targets
- Operational Execution: Understanding of scrap receiving, sorting, grading, storage, and warehouse processes.
- Inventory & Material Control: Track materials by grade, weight, and location.
- Logistics Coordination: Manage inbound and outbound truck flow, optimize loading/unloading, and reduce turnaround times.
- Safety Awareness: Enforce PPE, identify hazards, and promote a strong safety culture through daily supervision and toolbox talks.
- Team Supervision: Lead operators and warehouse staff, assign tasks, monitor productivity, and provide training.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with forklifts, loaders, cranes, and ability to detect misuse or unsafe conditions.

- Planning and Purchase requisition: Perform on time purchase requisitions of services and materials for the consistent yard operation.
