About Us
In 2004, Evan, Independent Print & Design’s Founder and President, was working as an Art Director at a national advertising agency during the day and doing freelance design at night. He and a partner started their own design firm and solicited local businesses during their lunch hour. Soon after, Evan learned that the partner didn’t uphold his side of the deal so they parted ways. This led to increased stress trying to juggle both jobs and he wound up in the hospital. That was the catalyst he needed to leave the advertising agency, branch out on his own and run the design studio fulltime, which became Independent Print & Design.
A few months later he hired his first designer, acquired a wide format printer, a laminator and a production table. In 2015, with the business booming and increased space a necessity, Independent Print & Design moved its facility to its current location in central Boca Raton.
Along the way, the company gained more exposure and expanded its services. Wrapping vehicles became a side project for the company. As jobs came in, outside installers were hired to wrap vehicles in the parking lot. In 2014, Evan was a vendor at a local car show when he was approached by Anthony, a very eager 22-year-old. They spoke for a while and exchanged business cards. Approximately a year later, Anthony was in the area and stopped by the office. He reminded Evan who he was, where they met and informed him that he was a wrap installer at a large local dealership. The following weekend, on one of the hottest days of the year, Anthony was contracted to wrap a car. Evan was very impressed with the quality of work that Anthony did under the circumstances, and for the next year they met on weekends to work on customers’ vehicles.
As demand for vehicle wraps increased, they decided to join forces. In 2016, Anthony left his job and they set up Independent Wraps & Customs as an extension to Independent Print & Design. Year after year, the sister companies have consistently grown.
In 2017 they hired Jamie, an Account Executive who used to work with Evan at the advertising agency. Jamie is the glue that holds everything together and keeps the day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Since then, Joe, Michele and Stephanie have been added to round out the team of experienced professionals. Evan and Anthony believe that finding good employees isn’t easy, but feel fortunate to have a very dedicated and creative group of people onboard.
