Scrub Tech - PRN

Yoakum Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Scrub Tech! We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our surgical team and help us provide exceptional patient care.

In this role, you will assist surgeons and the surgical team by preparing the operating suite, managing instruments, and ensuring a sterile and safe environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to teamwork will be essential as you contribute to our Quality Assurance Program and work with our diverse patient population. We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating their needs and maintaining a sterile, organized instrument table.
• Prepare the operating room with all necessary instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment according to the surgeon's preference card.
• Accurately complete all operating room counts (instruments, sponges, needles) and follow proper procedures for any discrepancies.
• Handle and process specimens with meticulous care and accuracy.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment, following all written procedures and monitoring guidelines.
• Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
• Adapt procedures to meet the individual needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Operating Room Technician Certification
• Current BCLS Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the operating room
