Seamstress / Sewist

Hive Collective is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team. This role requires expertise in custom sewing, alterations, and embroidery, with opportunities to support various Hive Collective businesses, including Hive Bed & Bath, Hive for Kids, Hive for Her and Him, and our Home & Gift locations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship and thrive in a collaborative, innovative, and customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform custom sewing and alterations for garments, soft furnishings, and textiles to meet the needs of our diverse retail and client offerings.
• Take accurate measurements for clothing alterations and custom-fit projects.
• Execute hand and machine embroidery to enhance designs and personalize items for customers.
• Create and repair products across Hive businesses, including bedding, bath linens, children’s items, and apparel.
• Collaborate with team members to provide creative input and fulfill custom requests for Hive Collective’s unique product lines.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sewing and embroidery equipment as necessary to ensure high-quality results.
• Assist in crafting bespoke items for seasonal collections, special events, or promotional campaigns across our business segments.
• Organize and manage projects to meet deadlines and maintain consistency in quality.
• Provide exceptional customer service by understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Demonstrate honest and ethical behavior. 
• Record all time worked promptly and accurately. 
• Follow all safety guidelines. 
• Safeguard sensitive, private, and confidential information

• Proven experience as a seamstress, tailor, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse sewing and embroidery work.
• Proficiency in using industrial sewing machines, embroidery machines, and hand-sewing tools.
• Strong knowledge of textiles, garment construction, and patternmaking.
• Expertise in taking and interpreting measurements for alterations and custom fits.
• Keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to support multiple Hive businesses.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and engage with customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a design, retail, or gift-focused environment.
• Background in creating custom home textiles such as bedding, curtains, or pillows.
• Familiarity with digital embroidery software or advanced embroidery techniques.
