Job Description - Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional

Description

Castle Pines Golf Club is a nationally ranked private golf club located in Castle Rock, Colorado. Positioned among the top 50 golf clubs in the United States, we pride ourselves on providing The Best Day of Golf in America and an overall exceptional caliber of service and experience for our Members and their guests. 

Position Overview:

The Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional will be expected to assist the professional staff in every aspect of the total golf operation and golf experience. This position will include responsibilities for both the Golf Shop and the Golf Operation. This position will work closely with the Head Golf Professional, First Assistant Golf Professional, General Manager, all golf operations staff and other club department heads and their staffs. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Help to oversee all areas of the golf operation to assure expectations and standards are being met.

Golf Operations

  • Assist with planning, conducting, and scoring golf tournaments and other golf-related events.
  • Assist in maintaining the appearance standard of the Golf Shop.
  • Assist with quarterly inventories (Area of responsibility to be assigned).
  • Assist the merchandiser with the receiving, pricing, and inventorying new product.
  • Answer phones and assist Members in every capacity.
  • Assist with golf club repair.
  • Communicate regularly with the Head Professional, Assistant Professionals, Director of Instruction, Merchandiser, Bag Room Staff, Valet, Dining Room Staff, and Dining Room Managers regarding daily operations and special events.
  • Post and organize scores for handicapping records.
  • Develop creative ways of improving any part of the golf operation.
  • Play golf with Members and maintain a respectable golf game.
  • Aid the Head Golf Professional in every phase of the golf operation.
  • Spread hospitality and goodwill to all Members, guests, and staff.
  • Participate in the Professional Staff education calendar.
  • Monitor pace of play.

Outside Operations / Practice Tee 

  • Supervise and oversee Outside Services Operations.
  • Organization of the cart staging area and making sure it is presentable daily.
  • Oversee the practice tee daily and provide support regarding Outside Services staff.
  • Maintain a constant presence on the practice tee to organize Member games.
  • Have a constant understanding of Members and guests that are staying on property and managing the flow of the first tee with Members and guests who are “day only”.
  • Anticipatory of Member needs.
  • Communicate and provide any services needed for the Director of Instruction.

Requirements

Required to be either a PGA Member or a PGA Apprentice. Individual must exhibit a passion for the game as well as a willingness to continuously improve. The Assistant Professional must take great pride in providing the very best member and guest experience daily. This position will require expertise in Microsoft Office, Golf Genius Tournament Software and POS processing. This individual must display knowledge of the game through teaching as well as maintain an acceptable playing ability. Other responsibilities include merchandising, inventory control, tournament operations, practice tee supervision, bag room supervision, assistance to the Practice Tee Manager and participation in the professional staff education calendar.
