About the Role

Jovie Nannies and Sitters is hiring Seasonal Back-Up Care Sitters to support families during the school year and throughout our busy seasons — with the opportunity to continue into summer roles for those seeking ongoing work.

This position is perfect for someone looking for flexible, short-term, or seasonal childcare work while building experience with children of all ages. As a Back-Up Care Sitter, you’ll provide high-quality, reliable care for multiple families — not a single-family nanny placement — giving you variety, flexibility, and valuable childcare experience.

Location: Areas surrounding Barrington/Schaumburg and Wheaton/Oak Brook/Naperville, IL

Pay Rate: $20–$23 per hour

Schedule: Seasonal | Flexible | Full-Time or Part-Time

• At least 2 years of professional (non-family) childcare experience
• Able to provide 2-3 professional childcare references
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Must be 18 years or older - for background check purposes
• Dependable, adaptable, and passionate about working with children

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, engaging, and dependable care for children on a short-term or as-needed basis
• Follow family routines and care expectations with professionalism and warmth
• Communicate clearly with parents and the Jovie support team
• Arrive prepared and adapt quickly to different family environments
• Maintain reliability and a positive attitude for every assignment
