Job Type: Seasonal (Summer-Fall)

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, dependent on experience

Work Hours: Up to 30 hours per week, 4-day workweek

The City of Alton is seeking a Seasonal Brick Maintenance Employee to perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and preservation of our city's brick streets and sidewalks. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and are physically capable of performing manual labor.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and sealing brick streets and sidewalks


• Repair and replace damaged or missing bricks as needed


• Remove debris, weeds, and overgrowth from bricks


• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor 
  

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar maintenance or construction role preferred


• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with frequent bending, lifting, and standing


• Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather


• Valid driver's license 


• Must be at least 18 years of age or old


• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
