Job Description:
 

Job Title:         Seasonal Building Maintenance Technician

Location:        The Falkirk Mine - Underwood, North Dakota

Reports to:      Maintenance Planner

Department:   Maintenance

Duration:        April 2026 through December 2026

Essential Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting and mechanical systems
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and address issues as needed to identify hazards and reduce unplanned downtime
• Respond promptly to work orders, service calls and emergency maintenance requests
• Repair or replace fixtures, doors, windows, flooring, drywall and other structural components
• Maintain building grounds, including snow and ice removal, lawn care and cleaning
• Assist with contractor and department coordination
• Keep accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports and work orders as required by company policy
• Maintain clean, organized and hazard-free work areas
• Assist building maintenance service personnel
• Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA laws and regulations, established company safety procedures and state and federal environmental regulations

Other Duties:

• Act as a special parts runner
• Move office furniture
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of general building maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and with others while prioritizing tasks
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Must be able to perform all duties in a safe manner.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Technical training or certification in HVAC, plumbing and/or mechanical systems preferred
• Minimum of three years’ experience in building maintenance or a related field

Starting Salary:

• $34.78 (Hourly)
