Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is hiring a Seasonal Airport Fleet Mechanic (Level II or III) to keep our specialized fleet running at peak performance from Late August - January 1. This position focuses directly on fleet preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for snow removal machinery, emergency response apparatuses, and municipal airport vehicles.

Salary Ranges:
- Mechanic II: $32.08 - $44.92
- Mechanic III: $34.65 - $48.51
*$2000 bonus: $1000 sign-on bonus, paid out on employee's first paycheck & up to $1000 retention bonus, paid out in January, of employment, based on attendance and performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Fleet & Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, oil/fluid changes, brake jobs, blade and bristle replacements, and winterization for snowplows, blowers, sweepers, and spreader trucks to ensure readiness during extended snow events.
- FAA Readiness & Fleet Diagnostics: Inspect, diagnose, and service airport light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring fire and rescue apparatuses meet strict FAA safety standards and service records remain current.
- Parts Inventory & Work Orders: Identify required replacement parts, tools, and supplies; order items with supervisor approval; manage inventory; and accurately close out work orders.
- Fabrication & Emergency Repairs: Utilize gas/arc welding, torches, and power tools to fabricate parts, troubleshoot hydraulic/air brake systems, and respond to emergency mechanical breakdowns during weather operations.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications (Level II):
- Experience: At least 3 years of journey-level mechanic experience performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles or heavy machinery.
- License: Valid Driver’s License (ability to obtain a CO Driver’s License within 60 days).
- Clearance: Ability to pass a 10-year TSA/FAA background check and maintain airport security credentials.
Preferred Qualifications (Level III):
- Certifications: Completion of a technical training program with ASE certifications in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck.
- Specialized Experience: Prior experience with airport winter fleets, heavy snow equipment, construction machinery, alternative-fueled vehicles, or welding/fabrication.
- CDL: Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 1 year.
