Job Description - Seasonal Hospitality Staff

Description

A Seasonal Hospitality Staff member at the Barn Resort plays a key role in supporting the smooth operation of both front-of-house and back-of-house activities at the Farmhouse Restaurant and assisting with event execution. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are passionate about providing exceptional service to guests. Responsibilities include assisting with event setup and teardown, supporting restaurant operations, and ensuring that guest needs are met during events and daily service.

** Please note that this is a seasonal/temporary role and hours will be based off of seasonal influxes**

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Support:
    • Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including preparing banquet areas, setting tables, arranging decor, and ensuring all equipment is in place before and after events.
    • Help coordinate event flow to ensure that service runs smoothly and guests are well-attended to.
    • Provide support to the event staff to ensure all event details, from guest arrival to the final farewell, are executed as planned.
    • Assist guests during events, answering questions, offering information, and ensuring that any special requests are promptly addressed.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces during the event, ensuring that everything is kept tidy and presentable.
  • Farmhouse Restaurant Operations Support:
    • Assist with front-of-house duties such as greeting guests, seating them, and helping with reservations as needed.
    • Assist with back-of-house operations, including helping kitchen staff with food prep, dishwashing, and stocking supplies.
    • Provide support during peak service hours to ensure the restaurant runs efficiently, including clearing tables, serving drinks, and delivering food to guests.
    • Ensure all restaurant areas are clean, organized, and ready for guest arrival, including dining areas, restrooms, and service stations.
  • Guest Satisfaction:
    • Ensure guests receive high-quality service by maintaining a positive and friendly attitude at all times.
    • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns in a professional manner and escalate to a supervisor or manager when necessary.
    • Assist in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests during events and restaurant service, ensuring that their needs are met promptly and professionally.
  • General Duties:
    • Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and cleanliness protocols.
    • Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to the Barn Resort’s dress code and grooming standards.
    • Work closely with other hospitality staff to ensure seamless service delivery during high-traffic periods and special events.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or event support is preferred but not required.
    • A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and fellow staff members.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team-oriented with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
    • Flexible and adaptable to meet the varying needs of different events and restaurant service.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, such as setting up event materials or helping with restaurant stock.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, especially during busy event periods.
    • A friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor is required.

Seasonal Hospitality Staff members will work across various areas of the Barn Resort, including the Farmhouse Restaurant and event venues. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the hospitality and events industry in a beautiful resort setting.
