Seasonal Maintenance - Parks

The City of Athens is seeking individuals who enjoy working outdoors to join our seasonal maintenance team in the Arts, Parks, and Recreation department. Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Maintenance and preparation of athletic fields


• Mowing, weeding, raking


• Lifting heavy materials


• Working in adverse weather conditions


• Janitorial functions in restrooms and park facilities


• Maintaining a clean environment with litter pick up and disposal


• Setting up for special events and athletic competitions


• Operation of equipment: park vehicles, mowers, tractors, etc.


• Other outdoor duties related to park maintenance

This is a seasonal position expected to last about 120 days, and is covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The starting pay rate is $12 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire to apply. Applicants must be able to work weekends.  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
