Description
American Spoon is seeking Retail Associates for our Saugatuck location to work seasonally through the summer, with the potential for weekend shifts through the end of the year. Weekend and some evening availability is required. This position is ideal for teachers, students, retirees, or anyone looking to work in a welcoming and engaging retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service and engage warmly with all visitors.
• Serve as a brand ambassador—educate customers on our products, our process, and our company’s story.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing store throughout each shift.
• Complete opening and closing duties, restock front and backroom shelves, and manage sales aids.
• Assist customers with purchases using our POS (Point of Sale) system.
• Prepare and serve samples to customers in accordance with health and safety standards.

This role requires bending, lifting, twisting, and the ability to be on your feet for the majority of the day, as well as lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements:

• Some retail experience preferred, especially in small specialty shops or similar environments.
• Must enjoy working with people and proactively engaging with customers.
• Must be available to work weekends and some evenings (until 9 PM) during the summer season.
• A passion for food and local agriculture is a plus!
• Must bring energy, a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to take direction and collaborate with the team.
• Familiarity with American Spoon’s products and mission is a plus.
