Other benefits include FSA (medical and dependent care), Pet Insurance, Sick Time, and PTO based on years of service We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Secondary Social Studies Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. In this role, you will inspire students to think critically about history, civics, geography, and economics while connecting past and present events to real-world issues. Your instruction will empower students to become informed, ethical, and engaged global citizens. Key Responsibilities Instruction and Curriculum Development Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons using a problem-based learning (PBL) model. Develop units of study in areas such as U.S. History, World History, Government, Civics, and Economics. Differentiate instruction to support all learners and ensure academic growth. Student Assessment and Support Evaluate student understanding through varied assessment methods and provide timely, actionable feedback. Monitor academic progress and implement strategies for student support and enrichment. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to meet individual student needs. Classroom Management Build a classroom culture of respect, inquiry, and intellectual curiosity. Establish and maintain consistent expectations for student behavior and engagement. Communicate proactively with families regarding student progress, achievements, and challenges. Collaboration and Professional Development Work with other teachers to plan interdisciplinary projects and units. Engage in ongoing professional development to refine instructional strategies and enhance content knowledge. Contribute to a collaborative school environment focused on student success and innovation. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. Valid state teaching license with highly qualified content knowledge. Strong understanding of science content. Preferred: Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Google Suite, and hands-on lab instruction. Essential Physical Requirements Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, or move around a classroom/lab for extended periods. Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and handling lab materials.
