Job Description

The Director of Security and Safety is responsible for directing and administering the implementation of all safety and security programs and initiatives to ensure the safety of residents, guests, team members and the security of the property.

Requirements

The Director of Security and Safety is responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Direct and administer all Safety and Security operations and functions to include, but not limited to, preserving the safety and security of the residents, guests, team members and the facility.Must comply with OSHA standards.Conduct as needed or required safety incentive programs.Oversee the lost and found to ensure lost property is documented and kept safe until returned to rightful owner.Budgeting and forecasting for department operational needs and/or costs.Adherence to federal, state and local standards and meeting participation and facilitation.Direct and administer the patrol of the interior of and the perimeter of the property.To observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.Direct and lead investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities.Direct response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property.Serve as primary liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement.Oversee the administration and accuracy of all required reports and documentation.Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.Recruit, interview and train team members.Other duties as assigned.Skills and Abilities:

It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.Inductive Reasoning - The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.Getting Information - Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.Resolving Conflicts and Negotiating with Others - Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others - Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks.Coaching and Developing Others - Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.Ability to work in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while simultaneously handling competing and changing priorities.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $115,000 based on experience.
