Division/Department: Black Bear Casino Resort – Security

Location: Black Bear Casino Resort - Onsite

Reports To: Security Shift Supervisor

Probationary Period: 90 days – Full time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Classification: Class A Gaming Licensure

Driver’s License: Level 0 - No Driver’s License Required.

Rate of Pay: $21.34-$24.01

Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision and leadership to security officers while on duty, acting as the primary point of contact for operational issues on the floor.

Serve as a mentor and trainer, offering real-time coaching, guidance, and feedback to officers to improve performance, professionalism, and consistency.

Maintain high visibility on the gaming floor and throughout the property to monitor activity, support officers, and ensure proactive response to issues.

Assist in the onboarding and training of new officers, including shadowing, performance feedback, and procedural instruction.

Respond to and manage incidents, disturbances, or emergencies in accordance with established protocols; take command until relieved by higher authority.

Provide excellent customer service, engaging with patrons professionally, resolving minor conflicts, and ensuring guests feel safe and supported.

Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Surveillance, Gaming, Facilities) to resolve operational issues and support smooth casino operations.

Document shift activity, incidents, and training/coaching conducted using appropriate forms or reporting systems.

Monitor and support adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Participate in emergency response efforts and drills, maintaining readiness and assisting with evacuation, crowd control, or other responsibilities as needed.

Maintain professional demeanor and uphold confidentiality and integrity at all times.

Must attend all mandatory department trainings.

Must attend all required Title 31 and/or SARC trainings.

Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.

Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.

Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.

Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.

Maintains a clean and organized work area.

Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

No Driver’s License required.

A strong knowledge and understanding of the laws of the United States and State of Minnesota is required.

Minimum age requirement of 21 years of age.

Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, Power Point, Access, Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required.

Ability to supervise and manage employees effectively is required.

Ability to work with the public is required.

Training in emergency first aid and CPR is required.

Operations are conducted seven days a week; 24 hours a day; and on holidays.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.

Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.

Attention to detail and accuracy is required.

Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.

Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.

Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds is required.

Walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling are required.

Subject to inside environmental conditions, including work in a smoking environment.
