Penick Village is seeking a dependable, professional, and service-oriented Security Guard/Driver to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our residents, team members, families, and visitors.
The Security Guard/Driver is responsible for campus security, access control, emergency response, campus patrols, resident transportation, and providing excellent customer service. As one of the first people visitors encounter when entering our community, this position requires a friendly, professional, and helpful approach.
Primary Responsibilities
Monitor the safety and security of the Penick Village campus.
Control campus access and ensure visitors are authorized and properly signed in.
Conduct regular campus patrols on foot and by vehicle or golf cart.
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, alarms, and safety concerns.
Assist residents and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
Monitor alarm systems, including resident pull cords, pendants, and building/fire alarms.
Provide safe transportation for residents to medical appointments, activities, personal errands, and approved community events.
Provide traffic control and monitor parking and campus speed limits.
Complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
Answer calls and respond to resident, family, visitor, and team member concerns professionally.
Assist with campus deliveries, mail, packages, and newspapers as needed.
Report vehicle, golf cart, safety, security, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain confidentiality and protect resident information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3–6 months of security experience required.
Valid North Carolina Driver's License required.
Must meet Penick Village's insurance carrier requirements for liability coverage.
Must be able and willing to safely operate a 14-passenger vehicle, including wheelchair tie-down procedures.
EMT, law enforcement, healthcare, or emergency response experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to successfully complete CPR and First Aid training.
Basic computer and keyboard skills.
Ability to remain calm, make sound decisions, and respond appropriately during emergency or high-stress situations.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work effectively with older adults.
Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required for a 24-hour operation.
