Security Guard: PRN

Description

Performs duties to provide assistance to and protection for the staff, patients, visitors, and the property of the Hospital District. Performs under the direction and supervision of the Director of Maintenance.

A. Performs duties in conjunction with protecting personnel and property.

• Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as, other departments to assure that needs to support security are met.  
• Assures that staff members are aware of how to request assistance or escort service, as needed. 
• Checks to assure that only approved entrances and exits to the facility are open and unlocked.  
• Maintains an atmosphere of warmth, a personal interest, and  positive emphasis, as well as, a calm environment throughout the hospital.  
• Maintains an awareness of activity within the hospital to
• Be alert to any potential threatening situations.  

B. Makes reports, maintains records, and makes notifications as required.

• Notifies appropriate personnel when special instructions are received regarding the protection of the facility, personnel, equipment, etc.  
• Completes all necessary forms or reports and submits them to the Department director, as required. 
• Report all accidents/incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures. 

Requirements

A. Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis. 

B. Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere.  

C. Interacts with Medical Staff members, family members, and staff members of other departments on a continuous basis.  

D. Follows safety guidelines and policies for the Hospital District.
