Security Officer

Description

 DESCRIPTION:The Unarmed Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and property. They will be expected to monitor the premises, respond to any security breaches or emergencies, and provide assistance to guests as needed. The Unarmed Security Officer will also be responsible for conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance cameras, and writing reports of any irregularities or incidents. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the security of the      premises by monitoring the entrance and departure of individuals, guarding      against theft, and maintaining a visible presence.
• Provide a positive and      professional experience for guests and employees by upholding the company’s      customer service philosophy and assisting with inquiries or directions.
• Adhere to all safety policies and      procedures, developing safe work habits and promoting a secure      environment.
• Document any irregularities such      as property damage, theft, or unauthorized persons.
• Maintain order and protect      property by circulating among visitors and employees.
• Conduct patrols of assigned areas      to prevent intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and      property.
• Detect, respond to, and deter      suspicious or criminal activity, as well as investigate disturbances and      answer alarms.
• Monitor security cameras and      alarm systems, promptly responding to any emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Working knowledge of relevant      Federal, State, County, and City laws, regulations, and ordinances.
• Understanding of criminal      behavior, underlying criminal and social psychology, and physical security      methods and procedures.
• Familiarity with safety      standards, procedures, and precautions used in security activities.
• Proficiency in operating equipment safely and in compliance with      applicable laws and regulations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Must be at least 18 years old of age.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous experience as a security guard/officer is required. Law      enforcement, or corrections background, military service, or 3 years of      verifiable professional security experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, jump, use hands, reach, and talk      or hear.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Good vision for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Professional appearance and effective communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work takes place inside and outside with varying environmental      conditions which include foot patrol or the use of an enclosed golf cart      type vehicle.
