QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Must align with the beliefs, values, and mission of First Baptist Atlanta

Must be adept at oral and written communication, and able to professionally interact with all FBA staff and members

Previous work/volunteer experience in security related field preferred

Demonstrate a proficiency and knowledge base current to standards within the security industry

Ability to obtain a Georgia Firearms License, operate, and qualify with approved firearms (GA State firearms certification for security) and other weapons (Taser, OC Chemical Spray, etc.), as well as meet all classroom and physical training requirements on the Use of Force Continuum, verbal commands, First Aid/CPR/AED/ with American Heart Association, defensive tactics, violence in the workforce, active shooters, confrontation and verbal judo, etc… mandatory

Above average ability to be flexible, organize, manage time, and set/shift priorities while meeting deadlines. The position will require occasional work on weekends and evenings

A high level of interpersonal and relationship skills is essential, as is the ability to handle sensitive, stressful, and/or confidential situations with professionalism both within the church staff, congregation, and outside organizations or individuals.

A team player with the ability to cultivate a team spirit within the Ministry area and the Church.

Effective problem analysis and resolution skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Previous experience writing routine reports and correspondence

Ability to develop, plan, and implement Ministry and Church-related short and long-range goals and interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures

Ability to explain and enforce laws, ordinances, regulations and apply appropriate physical restraint

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Patrol the interior and exterior areas of the Church facility (400,000 sq. ft.) and grounds (53 acres) to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, gates, etc.

Inspect fire prevention equipment and flashlights monthly

Complete written incident reports and daily activity logs (DAR) on daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences

Perform crowd management for services and events

Perform security risk assessments, physical security, crime prevention, and safety inspections

Respond to emergencies and answer alarms, investigate complaints, disturbances, violations, or calls for service

Provide public safety and escorts for staff, members, and special guests

Monitor security systems and authorize entrance and departure of staff and guests

Serve as a point of information to the general public
