Job Summary
We are seeking a professional Armed Security Officer to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and secure environment. You will protect our premises, assets, and employees and prevent any illegal or inappropriate occurrences. The ideal candidate has experience with public safety and security and operates with a high degree of integrity at all times.
This is outside standing and patrolling position, please do not apply if you are not willing to do the job.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the premises and maintain a high level of visibility
- Monitor entrances and exits to ensure only authorized personnel access the facility
- Remove trespassers when necessary
- Respond to reports of suspicious activity
- Report on daily activities and any security incidents
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Armed Security Guard.
- Valid CA Guard Card
- Valid Firearm Permit
- Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures
- Excellent written communication skills and report writing ability
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision

Personal Protective Services, Inc. (PPS) was founded in 1993 by Stan Teets. Stan previously spent 15 years in law enforcement as a Corrections Officer and as a Police Officer in Oregon. When Stan moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, he decided to expand his interest in law enforcement to the security industry. With his background in the apprehension of suspects, as well as the detention and rehabilitation of criminals, he felt that he could bring to the industry a broader range of experience and a more comprehensive outlook than was often found in security firms.
PPS began by providing security services to residential communities, including low-income housing developments created under the Oakland and San Francisco Housing Authorities. From the outset, PPS reduced crime by as much as 80% in the areas that it patrolled. PPS rapidly expanded its services and expertise to include event security, marine and port security, complex gate and pass control systems, VIP protection, security and surveillance systems, and investigative services.
