As a Security Officer Entry Management Specialist in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic campus location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support daily operations through professional communication and customer service. In this role, you will help to deter security-related incidents while working with agility, reliability, and integrity. Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control protocols, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, and help to control authorized access for students, staff, visitors, and vendors.
• Screen visitors, maintain accurate access logs and/or visitor records, and communicate relevant information to site contacts in a professional manner.
• Respond to incidents, policy questions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following post orders and reporting procedures.
• Support security-related operations by observing activity at assigned access points, reporting unusual conditions, and/or assisting with directions and general assistance as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
