As a Security Officer Ferry Terminal Patrol in Staten Island, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government ferry transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to passengers, visitors, and staff. Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government ferry transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of ferry terminals, boarding areas, access points, waiting areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious behavior according to site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, service requests, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly passenger environment by providing directions, observing crowd conditions, and communicating potential concerns to site management and/or emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
