Security Officer - Security - Days - PT+20 - Wiggins Location

The Security Officer is responsible for providing security for patients, visitors, and staff, as well as for the organization's buildings, assets, and properties to protect against theft and vandalism.

• Provides security for patients, visitors, and staff
  
  
  
  • Responds to security assistance and escort calls, completing necessary call logging, and completion of appropriate documentation
  
  
  • Investigates possible security instances, compiling relevant information, interviewing witnesses, and completing written reports
  
  
  • Promptly responds to calls and completes a Release of Liability form for motorist assistance, i.e. jumpstarts, and lockouts
  
  


• Responsible for protecting the organization's buildings, assets, and properties against theft and vandalism
  
  
  
  • Conducts safety checks of assigned areas, completing appropriate forms and reporting significant findings to leadership
  
  
  • Conducts facility rounding, security checks, and manages door locks in accordance with security policy
  
  
  • Ensures that proper safety checks are completed on security vehicles before utilizing them for exterior patrol
  
  
  • Operates office equipment in the security department, including Security Alarm System, CCTV surveillance system, and computer equipment
  
  

• Required:  High school graduate or equivalent (GED).  


• Must complete a certification course with the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) within twelve months of hire date 


• Maintain a valid MS driver's license


• Required Experience:  0 years of relevant experience


• Preferred:  0-2 minimum years of relevant experience

• Healthcare related security protocols

Skills:

• Effective communication and de-escalation tactics

Abilities:

• Remain calm and focused in various social environments

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:  Work is generally performed in a healthcare environment.  Frequent reaching, sitting, walking, and standing may be required.  No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job.  Work will involve the assistance with patient restraint.
