Security/Maintenance Position

Security - The Security Department follows Standard Operating Guidelines to accomplish the safety and security of all patients, visitors, and employees at Calais Community Hospital. Security remains vigilant in identifying security and safety issues that arise, logging any issues in an incident report or daily log to be reviewed by the Security Supervisor. Security follows specific rounds, checking for unlocked doors and anything out of the ordinary. Security assists all departments with patient monitoring, lift assists, patient restraints and any other duties that the department feels are in direct association with the security and safety of the hospital. Must train in MOAB techniques. 

Maintenance - Performs daily inspection and regularly scheduled PMs. Duties will include but are not limited to, Wall repair, painting, replacing light bulbs, and other light maintenance tasks. Required to share on-call schedule. Must have or be willing to obtain a State of Maine boiler operator’s license within one year of employment.

The candidate should be comfortable with changing job requirements between maintenance and security. The candidate will be assigned to the area they are needed the most and is at the discretion of the Security Supervisor or Plant Operations Director. 

This position is a Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm shift. 

Physical Criteria - Work involves standing 90% of the time. Walking, bending, stooping, moderate to heavy lifting required. Vision and hearing acuteness is required.

Job Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to routinely use maintenance products and solutions
• Must be able to follow instructions both written and verbal
• Must be able to learn and use MOAB training
• Adapts well to sudden change
• Must be able to respond when on-call, arriving at the hospital no later than 30 minutes from the time the call was received.
• Communicates non-routine items/issues to Security Supervisor
