Job Description - Senior Account Executive
The senior account executive takes charge of spearheading new business sales and overseeing the insurance portfolio for clients within a designated territory. Leading coverage or program assignments, this role addresses audit requests and tackles identified challenges through effective problem-solving. With a strong customer focus, the senior account executive serves as a proficient Subject Matter Expert, delivering training and guidance. The position requires the development of subject matter expertise in intricate lines of coverage and the implementation of Account Services directives for new and renewal customers, partners, and sales initiatives.
Responsibilities
Navigate through complex risks and insurance lines, ensuring the success of audits when applicable.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert for designated coverage, lines of business, or programs.
Identify tools, resources, and training to enhance operational efficiencies, providing support to Account Services staff.
Manage agency management system support and promptly resolve issues.
Drive customer-focused activities by overseeing key accounts and assigned customers.
Execute renewal, selling, and cross-selling activities, analyzing eligibility, exposures, inspection reports, loss history, and other relevant information for appropriate insurance placement.
Assess the performance of existing market pricing and coverage, negotiating insurance premiums within established underwriting authority.
Adhere to eligibility requirements, underwriting guidelines, and agency agreements of insurance carrier business partners, responsibly executing rate plans within the guidelines and underwriting authority.
Cultivate external relationships with quality companies exhibiting strong capacity and high customer service levels.
Provide internal operational support, acting as a liaison, and offering necessary assistance, research, and support to the Underwriting department.
Collaborate internally with underwriting, marketing/sales, and finance to deliver exceptional service to members/prospects and carriers.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Possession of a resident producer’s license with the ability to be licensed in all 50 states.
Flexibility for travel across the United States.
Five years of experience in commercial lines service within insurance company/agency operations.
Proven track record in managing high-volume, key accounts.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with external brokers.
Comprehensive knowledge of sales and underwriting processes.
