Scope: This exempt full-time position, is based in Washington, D.C. The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the Finance Team with extensive experience in government contracting or NGO’s with government grants and proficiency in JAMIS ERP. The incumbent plays a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and optimizing the use of JAMIS ERP for efficient financial reporting and analysis. The incumbent reports to the Controller.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for processing revenue and billing in JAMIS Prime ERP.
Collaborate with grant managers to ensure billing and revenue accuracy in JAMIS.
Reconcile grant/contract related receivables and refundable advances.
Reconcile and record US payroll, with HR systems and third-party processor.
Manage payroll periods in JAMIS.
Manage the JAMIS settings allowing timesheet related reclass entries that have been fully approved.
Onboard, administer, and offboard employees in JAMIS. Updating pay changes, job title changes, or policy changes impacting payroll including the annual holiday schedule.
Record and reconcile other payroll and benefit transactions.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Assist with executing transactions for the appropriate accounting functions (i.e., allocations, open/close periods, execute batch processes, etc.)
Support the audit process.
Serve as a backup when other staff are out of the office.
Other duties as assigned.
