PURPOSE:
The Senior Accountant will possess a strong results-driven mentality, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to achieving financial goals and delivering exceptional outcomes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while meticulously reviewing all aspects of accounting processes. Additionally, the Senior Accountant must be capable of working autonomously, displaying a high degree of initiative and self-direction in managing tasks and responsibilities without the need for constant supervision. This independence will empower them to take ownership of their work, streamline workflows, and contribute significantly to the overall success of the team and organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
Prepare account reconciliations for month end close.
Assist with month end close process including bank reconciliations.
Assist with annual audit and tax requests.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
Acts as primary point of contact for regional operations as assigned including the Regional Vice-President
Assist Director of Accounting as needed.
Perform other analyses and duties as assigned.
Skilled in identifying and resolving problems.
Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, co-workers and the public.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively orally and in writing to English.
Skilled in Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to Pivot tables, Index Match, Vlookup, and managing large data sets
Proficiency in the operation of a computer keyboard and ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Products.
Handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) for duties related to document and report preparation. Policies and Procedures will be strictly adhered to make sure PHI is protected as required by the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
Understand HIPAA security policies, procedures, expectations, and professional responsibilities related to area and staff.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
Strict attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, start-up, results-oriented environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience communicating financial results to operations leaders and answering questions about monthly results
Proficient Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Excel and ability to analyze large data sets
Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
