Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to leverage their accounting expertise and make a big impact at a fast-growing company. In this critical role you will support timely and accurate month-end closings, financial reporting and variance analysis, as well as manage complex financial data and contribute to financial planning and budgeting.
LOCATION: Waltham, MA (Hybrid, 3 to 4 days per week on-site, 1 to 2 days remote)
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries, detail balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Assist with month and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal company policies.
Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances or areas for improvement.
Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably within CPG, food & beverage, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy business.
Demonstrated experience with tight month-end closings and variance analysis to support decision-making.
Ability to streamline accounting operations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with internal teams and external partners.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, analytical review)
