A healthcare organization is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor to oversee a small accounting team and ensure accurate, timely monthly financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• 
  

  Supervise and review the work of 2-3 Staff Accountants

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure monthly financial statements are completed and distributed on time

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare and review supporting notes and explanations for financial results

  
  


• 
  

  Oversee journal entries and other accounting activity completed by the team

  
  


• 
  

  Review and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts

  
  


• 
  

  Reconcile cash clearing accounts and resolve outstanding items

  
  


• 
  

  Identify and clean up aged balances, unreconciled accounts, and historical accounting issues

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain accurate financial records and improve the overall quality of the close process

  
  


• 
  

  Provide hands-on support to the accounting team as needed

  
  

Requirements

• 
  

  Strong accounting experience with responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting

  
  


• SNF accounting experience strongly preferred


• 
  

  Experience reviewing the work of junior accounting staff preferred 

  
  


• 
  

  Strong reconciliation, cleanup, and problem-solving skills

  
  


• 
  

  Detail-oriented, organized, and able to ensure deadlines are met
