The position is fully onsite, and the work schedule is weekdays at 8:00–5:00 pm. This role reports to the Accounting Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintains the general ledger
- Sales and use tax for multiple states
- Lease Accounting ASC842
- Allocate expenses to all departments
- Record elimination entries for 2 entities
- Prepaid Schedule
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and assist with month-end closing
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
- Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Preparing financial statements
- Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
- Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff
- Performs general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience required
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Highly proficient with accounting software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and stress management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Intermediate Excel level
- Ability to work with little to no supervision
