Position Overview

A family office is seeking a strong Senior Accountant to manage accounting and financial reporting across a diverse portfolio of real estate holdings, trusts, investments, and related entities.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced accountant who can independently manage multiple entities, maintain accurate financials, and handle the accounting process from journal entries and reconciliations through financial statement preparation and reporting. The Senior Accountant will work closely with senior leadership and gain broad exposure across the family office's financial activities.

The Ideal Candidate

• 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Experience working across multiple entities or complex accounting structures
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, and financial analysis
• Able to independently manage accounting responsibilities and deadlines
• Analytical, highly organized, and detail-oriented
• Family office, real estate, investment, or trust accounting experience is preferred
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus, but not required

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting across multiple family office entities
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare financial statements and management reports
• Maintain accurate general ledgers and financial records across multiple entities
• Track and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Maintain accounting records related to real estate holdings, trusts, investments, and other assets
• Analyze account activity and investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare financial schedules and analysis for senior leadership
• Assist with cash activity, investment transactions, and entity-level reporting
• Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals on tax preparation and year-end reporting
• Support audit, tax, trust, and estate-related accounting requests as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and support strong accounting controls
• Utilize Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data management

Qualifications & Must-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–6 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Strong month-end close experience
• Strong journal entry and account reconciliation skills
• Experience preparing financial statements and financial reports
• Experience working across multiple entities
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Ability to independently manage accounting work from transaction-level detail through financial reporting
