Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

Review accounts payable batches and checks for accuracy and completeness and direct correcting entries as needed

Research state sales and use, gross receipts and other tax regulations

Analyze and reconcile various General Ledger accounts, prepare month end work papers and prepare correcting entries as needed

Understand guidelines to ensure accurate controls and segregation of duties are in place to meet compliance

Assist with questions related to financial and operational information

Obtain and organize information for internal and external audits

Assists various entities in all accounting related functions

Review vendor setups

Monitor accounts payable staff

Monthly financial statement preparation

Monthly updates to the work in process schedule

Oversight of cash management

Coordinate with 3rd party auditor to ensure successful year-end close

Generate companywide W-2s, 1099s, and 1095c forms and other year-end forms as required by the IRS

Complete sales tax audits as they arise

Coordinate with banking, surety, and insurance companies as needed

Conduct weekly review of payroll

Assist in bid preparation by ensuring compliance with sales tax regulations and Davis Bacon payroll requirements

Additional job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

CPA certification strongly preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software systems

Sage300 experience preferred, not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
