Job Description:
The Sr. Accountant has responsibility for assisting in the intercompany functions f in compliance with all GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and procedures. Will be supporting consolidations and reporting of monthly results. Support day-to-day and month end functions. This person will have a set of accounts with a good understanding of financial statements to ensure compliance.
Prep and review consolidated financial statements and be able to identify and research trends
Prepare and review journal entries
Conduct and document financial processes
Interpret results using techniques ranging from simple data aggregation via analysis to complex data mining
Reviews JEs of junior staff for accuracy (including training and mentoring)
Owns, supports, analyzes, and preps assigned account reconciliations
Assist with financial and tax audit
Ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded in SAP
Communicate intercompany charges with both domestic and overseas counterparties
Preparing monthly reconciliation and confirmation of intercompany payable and receivable balances
Responsible for intercompany queries and resolving issues within stipulated time frame
Responsible for the monitoring of aging intercompany payables and receivables and resolving related issues
Initiating and documenting process improvements in the intercompany role to improve efficiency
Provide commentary to Supervisor on material intercompany differences on both P&L and Balance Sheet accounts.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Ensure deadlines are met and issues resolved as necessary
Participate in special projects, ad hoc reports, and cross-train with other team members
Other duties as assigned
Must-Have Qualifications:
Must have excellent communication and customer service skills; Must have ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; Must have ten-key calculator by touch
Previous SAP experience required
Minimum 5 years Intercompany or General Accounting experience required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or MBA are a plus
Must have ability to assist and develop continuous process improvements
